The term majolica lava stone commonly refers to a lava basalt object that has a majolica surface decoration. In reality, since by ceramic we mean rather a large grouping of terracotta artefacts, this decorative technique in the specialist field is more correctly referred to as majolica lava stone or majolica on lava stone.
Thanks to the particular aesthetic potential due to ceramic, combined with the remarkable qualities of mechanical and physical resistance of basalt, ceramic-coated lava stone is used for the production of tables, tops for kitchens and bathrooms, floors, mosaics, shower trays, sinks and coverings.
